Being part of the Botanic Gardens

The Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden is a success story of community and local government partnerships. We are one of the largest volunteer workforce supported Botanic Gardens in Australia.

Members of the community have provided time and effort, money, goods and services and continue to do so on a regular basis supporting what is now a valued community asset proudly funded and managed by Eurobodalla Shire Council.

Friends of the Gardens

The Friends are a community group whose mission is to provide support to the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens (ERBG).

The Friends of Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens are widely recognised as essential partners in supporting the Botanic Gardens. Working to assist in the development of the Gardens as a showcase for the region's native plants and to promote community awareness, knowledge, appreciation and enjoyment of the Gardens.

The Friends aim is to increase community awareness of the recreational, educational and conservation value of the Gardens.

From the commencement of the Gardens in 1988, the Friends have been actively involved as volunteers in the day-to-day work of the Gardens. Today the Friends play an important role in supporting the volunteers that are inducted through Councils volunteer program.

Volunteering

Volunteers contribute around 16,000 hours of voluntary labour to the Gardens each year. This voluntary support is vital for the success of the Gardens.
